Naming the natural stones

Natural stones in general are titled with a name to identify, visualize or specify. Ideally naming of stones are done considering its (a) Origin (b) Element (c) Feature (d) Color and (e) Material. In recent times it is noted that the material originates from a single location but the mining companies’ tags them with different names, and when it is shipped as a block for processing to other countries the processor tags them with a different name. Finally, the shipped finished products are again tagged with a new name by the Importer / Distributor. This whole process of tagging different names is purely done with the objective of branding the stones which fascinates the customer.
