This makes it susceptible to scratches, pitting, cracks, stains, and even dulling of the shine. It may take a little more maintenance and upkeep to keep your marble looking nice. You should dust the marble at once in a week with a soft micro fiber cloth. For wet cleaning, use a damp cloth and a ph-neutral cleaner designed for stone. Avoid using abrasive cleaners as it can damage the finish. Even acidic foods like tomatoes, citrus fruits can damage the marble.

If you use a marble countertop in bathroom, it can provide a stain resistant, water resistant, rugged and durable surface in your bathroom. A clear coat of protective wax can easily be applied to protect your countertop from damage or after sanding and repairs can be made to avoid further damage to the surface. One best thing about this countertop is that they can last for up to 100 years or more with proper care.

Marble can absorb liquids so try to prevent water rings and staining by using placemats and coasters. Always use cutting boards and placements to avoid any scratches.

Do not use polished marble in high traffic area. Use coasters under glasses or bottles. Avoid using old vacuum cleaners. Always rinse using clean, warm water. Allow floors to dry before use. Use nutshells, feldspar, silica, quartz abrasives on honed marble only, and never on polished surfaces. Don’t use wax on marble, as it makes it slippery.
